International Women’s Day is more than just a holiday , it signifies the goal of someday achieving complete gender equality. Around the globe, a gender pay gap still exists, women are still faced with more violence than men and a significantly smaller number of women are in politics and business. But the international holiday is not just a day for women to notice the setbacks in equality they face, it is also a day to commemorate all the women who have achieved life goals. International Women’s Day is a worldwide event that supports gender equality and celebrates all of the achievements of women ranging from political to social. It is a day to notice all of the strong, independent women despite all the setbacks they have faced.  It is also a day to look to the future with hope and determination and see all that women will overcome in the future.
