Putting on sunscreen should be a normal, daily part of your beauty ritual. Finding and knowing about the correct sunscreen for you is very important to proper skincare. The SPF number on your sunscreen indicates how long you can stay in the sun without burning. For example an SPF of 15 would mean that it would take your skin 15 times as long for your skin to burn. You do not have to go for a super high SPF, staying in the range of 30-50 is adequate. Also look for broad spectrum formulas since the sun emits UVA and UVB rays. When applying sunscreen make sure to use more than a quarter size amount. The recommended amount is an ounce, which is the equivalent to a shot glass. Lastly, apply your sunscreen 15-30 minutes before stepping outside. Your skin needs time to absorb the SPF so that it can give you the proper protection.
